Hi, I’m Jade – founder of Village Swap, connection-seeker, story-sharer, and someone who’s felt the sting of loneliness as an adult. Like many, I spent years craving that deep, effortless kind of friendship – the kind you don’t have to explain or justify. The kind that just feels like home.
It wasn’t that I’d never felt supported – but when I met my husband, I experienced a different kind of connection – the kind that’s woven into the rhythm of daily life. His family’s weekly dinners, spontaneous game days, and open-door warmth showed me what it feels like to be completely wrapped in community. It was layered, consistent, and deeply grounding.
And it hit me – everyone deserves that. Real connection, in all its forms. Not just during the hard times, but as a steady, everyday presence.
The idea for Village Swap started taking shape after a powerful conversation with author and TikTok’er Kate Forster. She helped me realise that connection isn’t just something I care about – it’s the heartbeat of everything I do. A TikTok post about my cousin’s birthday (where not a single friend showed up) sparked hundreds of comments from adults saying the same thing: “I just want a friend.” Especially if you’re a bit neuro-spicy, it can feel nearly impossible to know where to start
So I reached out to body language expert Scott Taylor, and together we are running our first Village Games Day on May 3rd 2025 – a space where adults can play, laugh, and connect without the awkward small talk.
And now, Village Swap is here for everyone – not just parents of kids, but carers, pet parents, solo souls, new-in-town folk, and those who simply want to find their people. We’ve built a platform that makes it easy to find friendship without the cringe. If someone’s in our Find Your People section, they’re already open to connection – no need for awkward “do you want to be friends?” moments.
We’re bringing back the village – not just as a concept, but as a reality. One connection, one chat, one deep, meaningful moment at a time.
Because no one should have to go through life feeling alone. This is exactly what you need.If you’d like to follow Scott Taylor or Kate Forster you can find them on the below handles on TikTok
